EU-Single Market

Our support in the Single Market

The European single market is the most important achievement of the European integration process and the nucleus of the EU. It was launched on January 1, 1993, and ensures the free movement of goods, services, people, and capital within the EU. The single market includes the 27 EU member states as well as Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein (through the European Economic Area). Switzerland has partial access to the internal market (via bilateral agreements).

The internal market is one of the EU's greatest achievements, as it facilitates trade between companies, stimulates growth, promotes innovation and, at the same time, simplifies the lives of citizens. More information can be found in an infographic from the European Council HERE.

We, at the Enterprise Europe Network Bavaria, can help you benefit from the opportunities offered by the EU internal market.

Our team of experts will advise you on EU legislation and directives that you need to be aware of if you want to operate internationally.

Specifically, this means support for your company in:

  • Commercialisation of new technologies and innovations
  • Delivering goods within the EU
  • Providing cross-border services
  • Posting of workers
  • Handling VAT at cross-border transactions
  • New market entry
  • Searching business partners
  • Finding funding for your international projects or innovation processes
  • Participating in trade fairs or matchmaking events
  • Ensuring product conformity and compliance with regulatory requirements (standards, CE marking, REACH, etc.)
  • Protecting your intellectual property.
  • Advisory service on public procurement
  • Advisory service on European public procurement law
  • Information on current tenders

At the same time, we offer to convey your voice to the European Commission:

  • We can report your problems in the internal market directly to the European Commission via the EU Feedback Database.
  • We work with other European networks such as SOLVIT and Your Europe-Advice to find solutions to your obstacles in the single market.
  • We regularly inform you about current surveys for entrepreneurs and about public consultations by the European Commission.
  • This enables you and us to provide feedback to the EU on which bureaucratic obstacles arise in practice and need to be removed.

Single Market – public procurement

Find new business partners in Europe via public procurement with the ABZ

The Auftragsberatungszentrum Bayern e.V. (ABZ) is the first point of contact for public procurement in Bavaria. Our team of experts advises you on EU legislation and directives that you need to comply with if you want to operate internationally.

 Our services:

  • Public contracts
  • International business
  • EU regulations

The ABZ provides information and advice to companies and public contracting authorities on all aspects of German and European public procurement in the supply and services sector. Small and medium enterprises are supported in exploring the public market at regional, national and international level and in participating in tenders. Public contracting authorities find help in issuing tenders in accordance with public procurement law and finding suitable bidders.

When participating in tenders abroad, companies repeatedly encounter obstacles in the tendering process. For example, certain proofs of suitability are not recognised, or country-specific proofs unknown to the company are required. The ABZ supports companies in this regard by providing individual advice or further information. In addition, the ABZ is closely networked with its Bavarian partners in the EEN. For example, questions regarding the posting of workers in the context of a foreign procurement procedure are closely coordinated with the contact persons at the  respective chamber.

For several years, ABZ has been conducting training courses for network partners in the EEN advisory network on international tendering topics. These training courses enable participants to pass on helpful tips to their customers on how to participate in tenders abroad.

Key facts:

  • Free advice for companies and public contracting authorities on national and Europe-wide supply and service tenders
  • Events, seminars and workshops on public procurement law
  • Free of charge listing in the bidder database for companies and nomination service for contracting authorities
  • Consulting and prequalification within the framework of the Official Register
