Who are we?
The Auftragsberatungszentrum Bayern e.V. (ABZ) is a joint competence center of the Bavarian Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Association of Bavarian Chambers of Crafts in Bavaria and is the central interface between public contracting authorities and the economy. It supports companies in processing the public market at regional, national and international level. It helps public clients to tender in accordance with public procurement law and to find suitable bidders. The ABZ, based in Munich, has been offering its services throughout Bavaria for over 70 years.
What do we do?
The ABZ has developed a wide range of specialized services and information offerings. The ABZ's services include
- free advice for companies and public contracting authorities on procurement procedures in the supply and service sector
- tailor-made training and further education courses on all aspects of public procurement
- Prequalification as part of registration in the official register (AVPQ)
- the nomination of companies for restricted tenders and negotiated awards
Within the Bavarian Enterprise Europe Network, the ABZ covers the area of public procurement throughout Bavaria and acts as a back office for all network partners.

How do we help?
Nomination of companies
The Auftragsberatungszentrum Bayern e. V. (ABZ) points out reliable and capable applicants to contracting authorities as part of the designation process.
For this purpose, the ABZ maintains a bidder database with currently over 3,500 Bavarian companies interested in public sector supply and service contracts. If you are a company, you can apply to be included in the bidder database at any time.
If you are a contracting authority and are looking for suitable companies for restricted tenders or direct awards, you can send us a request for nomination. We will also be happy to help you with market research.
Official list of prequalified companies for the supply and service sector
Entry in the official directory makes it easier for Bavarian companies to participate in public tenders.
Companies and freelancers from the supply and service sector can register in the official directory set up by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs). The entry is regarded as proof of suitability. If the company is entered in the official register, there is a presumption of suitability in its favor, with the result that the awarding authority may only question the suitability of the company in justified exceptional cases.
Tailor-made consulting and training services
ABZ Bayern offers expert advice free of charge. With us, you will find contacts who will provide you with professional information on award procedures, deadlines and sources of information, regardless of whether the questions relate to German and European contracts.
At the same time, we support public contracting authorities in their purchasing activities. We help you to observe the rules of public procurement and to find suitable suppliers. ABZ Bayern offers basic seminars on public procurement as well as specialized training courses for companies and public clients (public contracting authorities). The basic seminars impart knowledge about legal regulations, tendering sources and typical mistakes in the tendering process. In the specialized seminars, we address current topics such as new laws and new developments on public markets. Our business events often take place in cooperation with the Bavarian Chambers of Industry and Commerce or Chambers of Crafts throughout Bavaria. You can also book our seminars as in-house training courses.
